Sports Day

March is a big deal at St. John of God Hospital. St. Johns Feast Day is on March 8th and for weeks before and after we celebrate. One of the main events is Sports Day. Everyone is randomly assigned to a Red, Green, Yellow or Blue house and wears their teams colours for the whole of March. Below are some of the events at Sports Day.

- Each of the houses started the competition by dancing off in front of each other

- Medical staff versus Maintenance Football Match

- Everyone eyes the ball in the Volleyball playoffs

- Reds lead the field again in mens 1500m

- Yellows relay stumbles metres from his team mate in front of his supporters

- Reds leave everyone behind in the womens 400m
-
- The star of the blue team takes another medal for high jump

- The yellows heave in front of green house supporters in the Tug of War

- The womens walking race begins
Congratulation to Blue House! But also to my house, Red House: I have read above that Red house leads the running races, great!!!
It was a tie win between Red and Blue House this year….both got 126 points. I was in yellow house…we lost…again
